George J. Barch, 59 of Parma, lost his courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family at home on Monday, January 3, 2011.
George was born Dec 15, 1951 to John and Mary Barch. He grew up in California with his parents and older brother, Kenny. That is where George and Kenny had many adventures. He always wanted to be just like his big brother and followed him everywhere. They spent hours on end listening to music together. George had a great love for music. In his young adult life, he toured with the group, “The Shirells.”
He married the love of his life, Patricia, on August 23, 1976 in Concord, CA. Together they raised 2 beautiful children, Sara and Benjamin. George also raised Patti’s daughter, Valerie, from the time she was 2. George’s life revolved around his children and grandchildren. He was always their biggest supporter in all their activities. Anyone that knows the Barch’s, knows what avid wrestling fans they were. There isn’t anything George wouldn’t do for his family. His soft spot for his family kept him grounded in his adult life. Every decision he made was for them. He was a great example to his kids and grandkids.
George is survived by his wife, Patti; daughter, Sara Childress (Johnathan); son, Benjamin; daughter, Valerie Henage (Jeremy); brother, Kenny (Chris); brother-in-law, Richard McCown (Peggy); grandchildren, Dillon, Owen, Tiler, Kodey, Branden, Rachel, Kristen, Matthew and Madison.
