George J. Reilly, 81, of Lavallette, NJ, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Born in West Caldwell, NJ, he attended high school at Immaculate then graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell. He later lived in North Caldwell before moving to Lavallette, NJ.
George served as Quarter Master on the USS Hyman in the United States Navy. He loved to say how he toured the world and saw 24 countries. He met is bride, Patricia (Murphy) on a double date with other people. They married and raised their family in North Caldwell for 30 years before moving to Lavallette in 1995.
George worked at Deluxe Check Printers for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed being a greens keeper at Fernwood Country Club, then driving the beach run school bus for Murphy Bus Co. An avid sports fan with an enviable cable package, he loved to watch the New York Giants, New York Rangers (he cried when they won the cup) and his favorite, the New York Yankees.
Predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Pat (nee Murphy) and his daughter Ann Marie Frost, he is survived by his daughter Kathy Reilly and her boyfriend Paul Griffin, as well as his son George Reilly and his wife Silvia and his granddaughter, Heather Frost.
