George J. Necklas, 86, of 11 Wildwood Drive, Branford, passed away Feb. 8, 2007 in Branford Hills Health Care. He was the beloved husband of Georgia “Babe” Loulis Necklas. Mr. Necklas was born in New Haven July 12, 1920, son of the late John G. and Anastasia Papademetriou Necklas. In association with his brother, he operated Necklas Restaurant on Orange St. in downtown New Haven for 53 years prior to his retirement in 1988. He served as a corporal in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II.
