George Ira Harrod Jr. of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. George was born December 10, 1936 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to George Ira Harrod Sr. and Fairy Mae (Waters) Harrod. George was 80 years old.
George worked for the City of Waldron for aproximately 11 years. He was good in a leadership role. He was a very private family man. George was very proud of his “Dude” and “Sunshine”, aka his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time and watching football with Ethan and spending quality time with Alyssa. Precious memories will linger with all family members. His presence will be missed greatly.
George leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 44 years, Alliene Harrod of the home, his children: Diane Wyers and husband Albert of Ozark, Arkansas, Robert Harrod and wife Judy of Mulberry, Arkansas, James Harrod and wife Lareese of Ozark, Arkansas, David Harrod of Van Buren, Arkansas, Lisa Coplen and husband Kevin of Spiro, Oklahoma and Carleva Jones and husband David of Waldron, Arkansas. Papaw will forever remain in our hears. George will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him, including an extended family of friends and loved ones dear to his heart.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fairy Harrod.
