George J. Hausmann, age 88, of Boerne, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Born in St. Louis, MO on February 11, 1916, he was the son of George T. and Alice Bilger Hausmann. Mr. Hausmann had lived in Boerne since 1977, where he was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He had played professional baseball for the San Antonio Missions from 1940 to 1942 and in 1951 and for the New York Giants, 1944, 1945, and 1949, as a second baseman. In 1952 he led the Texas League in fielding. He was Manager for two minor league baseball teams. He retired from Pearl Brewery after 13 years in 1971. He married his wife, Pauline Yadon in 1940. His wife, three sons, Gerald, George, and Gregory as well as two brothers, Alios and Harold Hausmann and two sisters, Leontine Kettlecamp and Helen Webber preceded him in death. Mr. Hausmann is survived by his Daughters-in-law, Dale Focke and Patricia Hausmann; Grandchildren; Scott (Bethany) Hausmann, Chad Hausmann, Philip Hausmann and Gregory (Lisa) Hausmann; Great Granddaughter, Madison Grace Hausmann; Sister, Arlin Hausmann; Numerous nephews and nieces. The Recitation of the Rosary will be on Sunday, June 20 at 7:00 P.M.
