George “Hank” Davis, 81, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield.
He was born on March 2, 1931 in Lapel, and resided most of his life in Anderson. George graduated from Anderson High School and served his country in the United States Army. He is was a retired Grounds Keeper for a cemetery in Texas. George also worked as a Security Guard and was a Custodian for the Anderson Community School System. He was an avid fisherman, loved playing the guitar, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
George is survived by his children, Diana Dwight Patton of Bedford, Victoria Paul Haskett of Anderson, Katherine “Grace” Davis Fuel of Commiskey, and Patrick Shawn Davis of Texas; sister, Alice Collins; brother; Orville Black; grandchildren, Michael Patton, Melissa Parker, Rosanna Windus, Melvin Haskett, Carla Capps, Anthony Brown, and Patricia Wagner. He was also survived by several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Davis of 58 years, and his parents; Virgil Davis, and, Rosa Alder, and several brothers and sisters.
