George Henry “Hank” Gerloff, 75. of Freeport, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Alden Alma Nelson in Rockford. Born October 31, 1927 in Freeport he was the son of William and Elizabeth (Heckersmiller) Gerloff. A World War II veteran he was retired from Gills Disposal. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his children, Roger (Rita) Gerloff Sr. of Roscoe; Paula (Ken) Butler, Linda (Roy) Dalton, and Mark Gerloff all of Rockford; his best friend of 25 years, Anna Mae Endriss of Freeport; brothers, William of Nebraska, Edward (Josey) Gerloff, Gerald (Cora) Gerloff, and Kenneth Gerloff all of Freeport; sisters, Betty Huenefeld of Adeline, and Nancy (Orville) Martin of Freeport; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Gary and Donna; one sisters, Mary Graves, two brothers, Robert and Donald Gerloff.
