On November 23, 2007, George H. Fifer, Sr. of Glen Burnie passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ann Fifer; his caring children, George H. Fifer, Jr., Cathleen Smith, Daniel Fifer and Marion Cooper; he was also the loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
George served his country proudly, serving in World War II, from 1943-1945 in the United States Army. He worked for B&O Railroad where he was a conductor for 60 years. George was also a proud member of American Legion Post 34 for over 50 years, in which he became an honorary life member and a member of their 40/8 club. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, coin collecting, stamp collecting and fishing.
