George H. Bidinger, the second of five children born to Herman and Lucille Bidinger, grew up on a dairy farm in Doylestown, Ohio.  George was a member of the football team and class president before attending John Carroll University.  He briefly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and returned to John Carroll to get his Master’s Degree in Physics.  While there, a woman named Kay Lazio caught his eye, and after many dates supervised by Kay’s sisters, the two were married.

George was a proud member of St. Patrick’s Church: he taught Pre-Cana and RCIA classes and was a Eucharistic Minister and Arimathean.
