George “Frog” Turner, Jr. was born on January 19, 1944 to the late Mr. and Mrs. George Turner Sr.

George accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Living Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Macedonia C. P. Church in America in Decatur, Alabama under the leadership of the late Reverend Frank Moore. He was a very faithful and dedicated member of the church.  He served in the following areas of the church; Sunday School teacher and Superintendent; Elder in the Session; President of the Sanctuary Choir and Male Chorus; Chairperson of the Male Ministry; Prison Ministry; Commissioner to the Tennessee Valley Presbytery and Commissioner to the State Synodical. He would serve anywhere he was asked to at the church. He was a dedicated soldier working until his health began to fail. When at the USA Rehabilitation Center he continued to use his God-given talent of teaching for the Sunday Services at the Center. He was known throughout the Cumberland Presbyterian Church as a dedicated and diligent steward.

His greatest joy was his family, helping others and cooking. He was married to his dedicated and loving wife Carmellia Ann Turner for over 46 years. He had three children; Randy J. Turner, Carmen D. Turner and George D. Turner.  One devoted daughter-in-law, Nakia Turner and two grandchildren, Megan and Randy Turner, Jr. To Ann, he would always be grateful and to his children he could not love more.

George was  a generous, kind and God-fearing man ‘that’ loved mankind. He was an avid supporter of his pastor, Dr. Herring and enjoyed talking about her.

On July 8, 2015 at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation Center his sweet spirit joined the Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Julius Turner; two sisters, Hattie Easley and Pearline Turner.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of over 46 years; three children; one daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; three sisters, Charcey Lee Sutherlin, Georgette McDaniel and Pauline Lanier all of Decatur, AL; five brothers-in-law, Mizell Bouldin (Gloria), Sammy Bouldin (Pairese), Jerry Bouldin, Charles Sales all of Decatur, and Marvin Sales of Louisiana; three sisters-in-law, Alice Young of Hillsboro, AL, Claudia Young of Courtland, AL and Clara Smith of Hillsboro, AL; a devoted cousin James “Moon” Burns; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
