DR. GEORGE F. GARDINEER “POP” (Age 88) Of Lansdowne, VA, died peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2015. Loving husband to Eula Mae Dotson Gardineer for 61 years; devoted father of David (Pam) Gardineer, Laura (Peter) Scholz, Virginia (Mark) Phinney and Richard Gardineer; beloved grandfather to ten grandchildren and great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren. Dr. Gardineer was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on September 27, 1927, but grew up in Washington, D.C. and Silver Spring, MD. He graduated from the Georgetown School of Dentistry and served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force as a dentist. He practiced dentistry for 42 years in Oxon Hill, MD. He served as the president of the Southern Maryland Dental Society and later as a dental consultant for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Pop had his private pilot’s license, loved cars and loved to travel. He and Eula Mae traveled to many locations around the world but his favorite place was the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he spent many summer vacations with family. Pop was an avid reader, fisherman and master of trivia.
