George Evan Garner, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather, passed away on May 31, 2016. He was born on May 5, 1927 to George Edwin and Gladys Simpson Garner, in Hooper, Utah. He graduated from Weber High School and shortly after entered the Marine Corps, however, because of his Muscular Dystrophy he was honorably discharged.

He had a great love for his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and dutch oven cooking. He enjoyed the Labor Day barbecue’s surrounded by his family.

He worked for Royal McBees and his last job prior to retirement was Stuart Sandwiches. He retired in 1972 and enjoyed a second home in Littlefield, Arizona, where he spent the winters and enjoyed golfing with his wife and friends.
He married Rosalie Bybee on April 17, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie; children, Wayne (Vicki) Garner, Kaysville; Randy (Patty) Garner, North Ogden; Jan Reid (Denise) Garner, Perry; Justin (Lisa) Garner, Sandy; and Ronda (Boyd) Bateman, Kaysville. He has 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and he was over joyed with his first great-great grandson, which was the 5th generation.

Dad struggled with Muscular Dystrophy his entire life. Dad, you now have strong legs and can run and chase rabbits! We love you and will miss your jokes and stories. We can’t wait until we can be with you again.

We would like to thank Apple Village care workers and Intermountain Hospice for their compassionate care.
