Mr. George Elon Bailey, age 82, of Valley, AL passed away Friday morning, June 2, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Marian Freeman Bailey; his two sons, Rickey (Irene) Bailey and Russell Bailey, both of Valley, AL; his sister, Betty Pouncey of Montgomery, AL; his brother, Kenneth Bailey of Georgia; his grandchild, Jaymie Ashlen Bailey of Shakopee, MN; his four step grandchildren, Jason (Christina) Scott of Ewa, HI, Chelsea Myers, Cierra (Andrew) Terry, and Sidney Manley, all of Valley, AL; his great grandchildren, Trapper and Taylor Scott. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Hodnett.
Mr. Bailey was born on January 21, 1935 in Chambers County, AL to the late Thelma and Pierce Bailey. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked for West Point Pepperell for 46½ years as a fixer and supervisor. He loved to turkey hunt, deer hunt, fish, and play golf.
