George Edward (Ed) McFarland Sr. 81, beloved husband and father passed away Sunday April 19, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Joseph Glenn and Emilie McFarland on August 1, 1933 in Springfield, Illinois. He married high school sweetheart Carole Wilson June 17, 1956. He is survived by his wife Carole of 58 years, daughters Kathy, Cindy, son Ed Jr., sister Joellen Stringfellow, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He graduated from The University Illinois in 1956 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and served 6 years in the US Navy SEABEES, as a Lieutenant. He moved his family to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1968. He was a volunteer Boy Scout leader; loved camping, exploring the back roads of Arizona and enjoyed restoring antique cars. Ed was manager of commercial contracts for Garrett-AiResearch from 1970-1994. He will be dearly missed for his stories about his travels and life experiences.
