George Edward Brown, Jr. was born April 20, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the second child of the late George and Mattie Brown. George’s older brother John, preceded him in death.
George was considered a native of San Diego as the family moved there when he was a small child. He received his formal education in the San Diego Unified School District, where he attended elementary, junior high and graduated from San Diego High School. He graduated from San Diego Community College and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from San Diego State College. He later received a Master of Business Degree from National University of San Diego.
George married Irma Polk on June 28, 1958 in San Diego, California. They were blessed with one child, Chae, the love of their life.
George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a very loving and caring family man, always willing to help others with a smile on his face.
