COLONEL GEORGE E. PHILBIN
Febuary 13, 1931 – January 14, 2013
George E. Philbin, beloved husband and father, passed away on January 14, 2013, at the age of 81. He was a family practice physician in Leadville from 1969 to 1979. After that time he joined the US Army and retired in 1995 as a Colonel. He hoped to be remembered as an honest, loving Christian, who loved his family most of all.
He is survived my his wife Melissa (Sauberlich) and their two children Veda and Adam. His is also survived by children Mary (James) Cowan, Susan (Karl) Kranz, Patricia Philbin, Kathleen (Ron) van Ommeren, Nancy Bertolas, Robert (Deanna) Philbin, Therese (Ron) Tice, Peggy (Pat) Navin; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Patricia Smith and Evelyn Dickey; and two brothers Eugene Philbin and Michael Philbin.
