George Miller, 80, of Ottawa died Tuesday night, October 18, at St. Johns Medical Center in Springfield. Mr. Miller was born on June 3, 1931, in Grand Ridge to Garrett M. and Lois (Wollenhaupt) Miller.
He was a trucker retiring in 1993 as the owner/operator of MWM Trucking. He served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War. He married Mary Sheahan on March 12, 1954, in Harding. She died on October 31, 1993. George was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Ottawa Moose Lodge #960, and was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori Weaver of Dallas, Texas, and Lisa (Ray) Fuchs of Ottawa; one son, Bradley (Laurena) Miller of Marseilles; eight grandchildren, Garrett and Alex Weaver, Nathan, Ashley, and Beau Miller, Ryan, Patrick, and Sean Fuchs; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert (Gerry) Miller of Ottawa and Roger (Joyce) Miller of Grand Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Brian; and two brothers, Richard Dick and Harold Miller.
