On November 14, 2005, George E. “Maverick” Linton passed away. George will be missed by many people. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine “Jackie” Linton; his children, Doris Ritz, Sharon Baumgardner and Terri Price; his brother, Francis Caroll “Butch” Linton ; his grandchildren, Laurne Detorie, Jeffery Price, Jr., Kristen Ritz, Brittany Price, Jessica Baumgardner and Courtney Price; and his great-grandchild, Sophia Detorie. George was predeceased by his son, George E. Linton, Jr.; his brother, James Edward Linton, Jr.; his sister, Naomi Metzger; his parents James E. Linton, Sr. and Henrietta M. Linton; and his two stillborn sons. George was a gas construction foreman for 30 years at BGE. He retired in 1987. He was a member of the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He served in both Germany and in England. George was a member of the South Baltimore Pigeon Racing Organization. He also enjoyed many hobbies, which included boxing, horse racing and riding, stock cars, rodeo, fishing, crabbing, and boating.
