George “Dub” Gurley, native of Fayette, Alabama, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the age of 84. He was a life time resident of the Eight Mile Alabama area, and the owner of Dub’s Auto Sales for 43 years. He loved and owned vintage cars.
Dub was preceded in death by his wife Maudell Carter Gurley parents Maude Geneva Batchelor and Joseph V. Gurley,daughter Pamela Starling, three sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife Nell Simmons Gurley, and his children; Deborah (Mike) Beasley, Joey Gurley, and Tracy Joiner, plus four step-sons; William, David, Charles, and Kevin Simmons, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and special to Paw Paw’s heart, great granddaughter Savanna Patrick, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all.
