George Daniel Pierce, 82, of Boerne passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his home.
George was born in Bandera, TX on July 18 1938 to Fayette Everett Pierce and Ida Mae Clark. He married Jo Nell Nickell, the love of his life, in Boerne and began his family while living in San Antonio briefly before moving back to Boerne. He was a devoted Christian and faithful servant of God, and a very proud grandfather affectionately named PoPo.
George is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo Nell Pierce; his son, Daniel Pierce; his daughter, Sharon Pierce Rust; his three grandchildren, Russell Rust (Dana), Michele Rust Bishop (Kristopher), and John Pierce (Danielle); his four great-grandchildren, Ethan Bishop, Makayla Bishop , Anna Rust, and Rayden Rust; his two sisters, Ethel Matthews and Joyce Flint (Floyd); his brothers, Bob McCracken (Jamie) and Sam McCracken; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Fayette and Ida Mae Pierce; his brothers, Eldon Pierce, Tommy McCracken, Joe McCracken, and James Pierce; his nephew, Jon Pierce; and his niece; Debbie Matthews.
It was 20 years ago in June that George was given the gift of life with a heart transplant. His heart never failed him over the years. His health concerns were diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease. He was so appreciative of his bride Jo Nell and how she cared for him.
