George Curtis Key. Age 95, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009. Born in Beaukiss, TX, on March 12, 1914, he was the son of Samuel Key and Elizabeth Valentine Key. A resident of Boerne for 14 years, Mr. Key had lived in San Angelo, TX, since the early 1950″s. He had served in the U. S. Army in the Cavalry in the 1930″s in Brackettville at Ft. Clark. During WW II he served in the U. S. Navy at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the VFW post in San Angelo. He was a retired carpenter and after retirement he and his wife made wooden toys and enjoyed selling them at trade shows. Preceded in death by his parents, son, George Elliott Key, Brother, Luther Key, and Grandchildren, Timmy Stewart and Joseph Key, Mr. Key is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Key; Children, Nancy Virginia Key, Daniel James Key and his wife, Pat, Richard Arlen Key, Doris Ann Postell and her husband, Don, John Key and his wife, Caroland Gene Raymond Key and his wife, Marcheta; Sister, Mary Kieras; 22 Grandchildren; 39 Great Grandchildren; and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.
