George Clifford Williams, Sr., 87, of Vandalia, died peacefully, Thursday, May 29, 2014 in his residence in the presence of his loving family.
George was born February 20, 1927 in Harland, Kentucky to Henry and Lucy Mae (Idle) Williams. He married Ruby Irene Lewis November 15, 1952 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Brent Williams; three sisters, Audrey Williams, Mabel Lee Williams, Shirley Abner; two brothers, Chester Williams, Edward Williams, three half sisters, Dora Jean Williams, Arlene Williams, Dorothy Abner; and one half brother, Alvie Williams. George’s main passion was his family, doing everything he could for them. He was proud of his craft as a mason. George was a very faithful man, putting God first in everything. He asked everyone he met if they knew Jesus and if they prayed. There is not enough room for the kids to say everything they want to about their Daddy.
Family and friends will greatly miss George. He is survived by his wife of over sixty five years, Ruby (Lewis) Williams of Vandalia; five daughters, Linda (Wade) Kiggins of Wasilla, Alaska, Sharon (Barry) Williams-Roberts of Midland, Ohio, Diane (David) Kurtzel of Dowagiac, Pamela (Jeff) Fritz of Barbourville, Kentucky, Deborah (Charles) Heron of Marcellus; one son, George C. Williams, Jr., of Vandalia; fourteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; one brother, Henry Williams of Sister Lakes; one half sister, Betty Jo (Bo) Reynolds of Barbourville, Kentucky; and four half brothers, Clayburn Williams and Wendell (Pam) Williams, both of Barbourville, Kentucky, Franklin (Carol) Clouse and Woodrow Clouse, both of Kalkaska; and Bill (Janet) Williams of Barbourville, Kentucky.
