George Brooks Etheridge, Jr., 71, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on February 26, 1951 to the late George and Betty Etheridge. Brooks was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1969 where he excelled in all sports.
Founded by his parents, he and his sister, Becky, successfully managed Etheridge Furniture, taking care of many clients in and around Columbia County before retiring in 2021 and closing the store after 57 years.
Brooks is survived by his only daughter, Della Katharine Crone (Andrew) of Greensboro, NC; his two grandchildren, Cason and Parker Crone. He is also survived by his sisters, Becky Todd (Mike), Tere Hoechst (David), and Nancy Westberry (Doug) and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
