George Bixby of Scottsdale passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on October 12, 2015. He was born to George Henry and Delia McEvers Bixby on March 30, 1919 in Flint Michigan. Raised in the Chicago area, he graduated from Luther Institute High School and Illinois Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering. During World War 11, he worked at Martin Marietta in Baltimore, Maryland, helping in the war effort as an engineer. On December 30, 1942 George married Margaret Campbell Bixby, who survives him. Three children will remember him: Linda Fulmer of Carefree, AZ, Lorna Sherwood of Pekin, IL and Allen Bixby of Willow Park, TX, as well as 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The Bixby family moved from Illinois to Scottsdale, AZ in 1962. George retired from Motorola and spent an active retirement traveling around the country, pulling a trailer. He was interested in woodworking and built many furniture items in his garage workshop. His penchant for photography contributed thousands of photos for the family to enjoy.
