George Alvarez, age 47, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was born May 7, 1974, in Santa Rosa, California to Julian R. Alvarez and Petra L. Alvarez. George was a very kindhearted person who was always willing to help those in need. He proudly worked for Sunglo for 20+ years. George had many skills and enjoyed working on cars, building hot rods, and weightlifting. Above all, his prized possession was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, coaching sports – silver and black Raiders. George will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
George is preceded in death by his father, Julian Alvarez; sister, Lorena Alvarez; and brother Julian Alvarez Jr.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Dana Spring Stout; children, George Alvarez Jr. and Alexis Leah Alvarez; mother, Petra L. Alvarez; siblings, Laura Mendoza (Alejandro), Petra “Pita” Alvarez (BB Alcala), Jose Manuel Alvarez, and Alejandra Alvarez (Jaime Trevino); along with numerous nephews and nieces.
