George A. Wagner, 84, of Bayville, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2015, at Green Acres Care Center surrounded by a loving family. George was born in Irvington, NJ, and graduated from Essex County Vocational and Technical High School.
He was employed as a carpenter/millwright with the Essex County Carpenters Union until his retirement in 1993. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. An avid fisherman, George enjoyed playing golf and horseracing, along with his love of jazz music.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Janet, his daughter Laura Allen and son-in-law Robert, his son Kurt Wagner and daughter-in-law Colleen, his son Glenn Wagner and daughter-in-law Kathleen, his daughter Jody Tully and son-in-law Dennis, and his grandchildren Katelyn, Ryan, Troy, Garrett and Elyse and his sister Ethel Ernst. George was a devoted husband and father and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
