George Untiet, 90 of New Britain, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Brittany Farms Health Center, New Britain. He was the beloved husband of the late Monica Untiet for 47 years. Born in Manchester, NH, son of the late John and Rose (Huard) Untiet, he was a New Britain resident for most of his life. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Fafnir Bearing after 37 years of employment. George was a member of St. Jerome Church, and past president of its Men’s Club and Social Club. He also enjoyed singing in the church’s choir for over 20 years. He is survived by his three sons and three grandchildren, Michael Untiet and his wife Nancy of Berlin and their son Matthew, Peter Untiet of New Britain, and William Untiet and his wife Elizabeth of Prospect and their children Monica and William Untiet, Jr. George is also survived by his brothers, Donald Untiet of Goffstown, NH and Raymond Untiet of CA, his sister-in-law and dear and devoted friend, Sophie Grudzinski of New Britain, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers and decorated World War II veterans, John and Charles Untiet.
