“Genrietta Ostromoukhova aged 93 resident of Bridgeport CT passed away on Thursday November 25, 2021 of heart failure  at St.Vincent Hospital.

She was born on January 21, 1928 in Moscow, Russia in a family of doctors. Both her Mother Polina Lipovskaya and her Father Abraham Jurisov were pediatricians.

She followed her parents’ calling by graduating from Moscow Medical University in 1951. She majored as a pediatrician but later on her PhD was dedicated to neonatal surgery. During her hospital career she became a brilliant and famous surgeon and saved a lot of lives. For many years she was receiving endless letters from thankful parents and growing up children.

In September 1951 she married her first husband Mark Ostromoukhov and in March 1953 their only daughter Irina was born. She also had two grandsons Stas and Kirill born in 1976 and 1984. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.

Unfortunately her first husband died of a massive heart attack in 1991.

She remarried  in 1995. Her second husband Gregory Zaitsev’s daughter lived in the USA. In December 1998 they moved to Bridgeport CT to join her.

They lived a happy life, travelled a lot, made a lot of friends. Gregory passed away in 2018 aged 96.

Genrietta will be remembered as an outgoing, altruistic and caring person. She was always surrounded by friends wherever she lived. Friends and neighbours used to ask for her medical advice and she was always there for everyone.

Rest in peace, dear Mother and Grandmother. We’ll always remember you as long as we live.”
