Genevieve “Genny” Owens, 91 of Centralia, passed away late Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the arms of the love of her life, George A. Owens, who survives. Genny was born July 22, 1925 the daughter of Lawrence West and Beulah (Guymon) West Deal and she married George on April 8, 1945 and he survives in Centralia.
In addition to her husband of 72 years, she is also survived by five children: Marcia Owens Atchison and husband Bob of Centralia, Ron Owens and wife Nancy of Florida, Doug Owens and wife Karen of Salem, David Owens and wife Stacey of Florida, and John Owens and wife Radica of Florida; 14 grandchildren: Eric Atchison, Jessica Duzan and husband Jerry, Jennifer Francois and husband Ricky, Angie Wood and husband Donny, Christie Rickert and husband Matthew, Aaron Owens and wife Haley, Corey Owens and wife Whitney, Shaunda Bundy and husband Derek, Matt Owens, Ryan Owens and wife Ashley, Dustin Owens and wife Cara, Daniel Owens and wife Vanessa, Rachel Owens, and Alycia Owens; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; two brothers: Dwight West and wife Peggy of Odin and Larry West and wife Kaye of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Blanche Rogers, Bessie Johannes, and Cleo Shaver, and three brothers: George West, John West, and Jimmy West. Genny joyfully enjoyed serving the local community through Real Estate for the past 40 years. Genny was more than a Realtor, she had a servant’s heart for all who she assisted. She was a member of First Baptist Church, serving on committees. She cherished spending time with her family, friends and a bridge club.
