Genevieve. G. Marturano, age 94, a longtime resident of Littleton, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Frank P. Marturano, loving mother of Donald Marturano of Centennial, CO, Bruce Marturano (Julie) of Avondale, AZ, James Marturano of Albuquerque, NM and Barbara Pfendler (Tom) of Western Springs, IL; cherished grandmother of Kathryn Norton (Justin), Chad Marturano (Laura), Maran Bergeron (Jeremy), Jenna Snowberger (Nathan) and Amy Pfendler; and proud great-grandmother of Arlaya and Jayden Bergeron, Leonardo Marturano and Quinn Norton. Genevieve was born in Hibbing, MN to Joseph and Frances Hresiokt on February 12, 1921. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1942 with a double major in music education and performance. Her primary instrument was the piano, and while at Northwestern she soloed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She married Lieutenant Frank P. Marturano on December 31, 1942. After the war, they relocated to Littleton where they raised their family and Dr. Marturano practiced medicine for over 30 years. She was the office manager and bookkeeper for his practice. She was active in the Arapahoe County Medical Auxiliary, the American Cancer Society and volunteered at the Littleton Public Library.
