Genevieve Zabawa, 84, of Crawfordsville passed away at 3:15 pm Thursday at St. Clare Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1922, in Jamestown, PA to Andrew and Rose Wojcik Szwczyk. She was a graduate of Passaic (NJ) High School and St. Vincent Nursing School. She married Joseph Zabawa on November 13, 1948, and he survives.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, and American Legion Auxiliary; she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Crawfordsville Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and the Hospital Auxiliary.
Other survivors include three sisters, Adeline Dubiel of Clifton, NJ; Josephine Murawski of Garfield, NJ; and Sonia Anderson of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by 1 Brother and 2 Sisters.
