Genevieve (Doleski) Malinowski, 99, of Newington, formerly of New Britain, died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Lucian J. Malinowski, Sr. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Antonia (Stygar) Doleski. She resided in New Britain for most of her life before moving to Newington, and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Gennie was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and followed UConn Men and Women’s basketball.
Devoted to raising her family, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and leaves four children, Patricia Dempsey and husband Dr. Brian Dempsey of Pittsfield, MA, Thomas Malinowski and wife Renée of Newington, Marianne “Mimi” Palladino and husband Richard of Bristol, and Lucian “Butch” Malinowski and wife Janet of Kensington; 11 grandchildren, Brennan, Conor, Garrett, and Evan Dempsey, Adam Malinowski and wife Jennifer, Eric Malinowski and wife Mallory, Dr. Diva Malinowski Green and husband Benjamin, Jamie Jackson and husband Brad, Derrick Palladino and wife Kristin, Lauren Laufersweiler and husband Gregg, and Steven Malinowski and wife Elizabeth; and 15 great grandchildren with a great granddaughter on the way. She also leaves her sister-in-law Jean Malinowski of Old Saybrook; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sisters Mary Ostroski and Lauretta Hopko. Her family would like to express its deepest gratitude to the staff at Jefferson House for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Gennie, and to Steve Parker on WTIC for her birthday announcements. She was a longtime WTIC listener and hearing her name on the radio brought her great joy.
