Genevieve Schreeg Clark, 99, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Rensselaer Care Center.

Gen began life in Jasper County on September 13, 1921, daughter of Fred and Coletta Feldhaus. After graduating Rensselaer High School in 1939, she and Otto Schreeg were married, while he was on leave from the US Navy, on October 20, 1942. After the war, he began farming. He predeceased Gen on March 20, 1976.

Gen and Ott are survived by their two children: Sharon Davisson and Jo Ann (Greg) Claussen. Their son Byron passed in 2014. Her 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren enjoyed her sense of humor, big hugs, and Oreo cookies! In January, 1978, Gen and Don Clark of Brook, Indiana, were married. They retired to Florida where they enjoyed boating, golfing, and fishing. He predeceased Gen on October 7, 2010. Gen was blessed with a kind spirit, positive attitude, and a wonderful sense of humor. Her compassion for the underprivileged involved her in numerous charitable projects. Working with the needy for twenty years in Florida was very gratifying. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, and loved Mother Nature. Gen was a successful salesperson and Interior Design Consultant at Indiana Furniture in Valparaiso, Indiana. Her artistic talent graced her family and friends. She especially excelled in painting flowers in watercolor.

Gen’s surviving sister is Betty Tonner. Preceding her in death are her parents and siblings, Anita Fedewa, Gerald Feldhaus, Marie Courtright, Geraldine Dill, and Jeanette Robinson.
