Mother Green was born February 26, 1934 in Madison County, Alabama to the late Charlie and Dovie Seay Turner. She departed this life on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mother Green journey of Faith began early as she joined Little Shiloh P.B. Church in Madison, Alabama. She later united with Fletcher’s Chapel #2 P.B. Church where she served on the Mother’s Board and was a faithful member until her health failed.
She attended the Madison County School System and was a homemaker. She was an avid bingo player that loved everyone she met and never met a stranger. Her favorite delicacy was Popeye’s Chicken
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Green Sr; son, Tommy Lee Green; parents, Charlie and Dovie Seay Turner; step-sisters, Essie Johnson, Lilly Sparkman, Susie Bonner, Virnia Mae Wynn and Wynita Jackson; brothers, Theo Turner and Leman Turner.
Her memory will be cherished by: her children, James (Rachel) Green Jr., Leo (SaFronia) Green, Dovie (Willard) McCarver, Martin (Glenda) Green, Dennis (Lisa) Green, Yvonne T. Mayo; sister, Mildred Turner all of Huntsville; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
