Born July 7, 1930, in Chattanooga, Tenn., she was the daughter of William Shelton and Allie Mae Songer Alexander. She was married Sept. 17, 1970, to Floyd H. Nethercutt, who preceded in death Aug. 27, 2005.
Mrs. Nethercutt enjoyed gardening, bird-watching and reading, especially John Grisham.
She was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and Atlanta Braves fan. Most especially, she enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are one son, Jim Young and his wife, Erin, Logansport; two daughters, Joy Baugh, Lake Cicott, and Marina Ingle and her husband, William, Logansport; two stepdaughters, Gladys Hewitt, Waldron, Ark., and Jean Banks, Hitchcock, Texas; two brothers, Joe Alexander and his wife, Rosalie, and Bob Alexander and his wife, Louise, all of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; one sister, Carolyn Skates and her husband, Leroy, Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Faye Alexander, Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren preceded in death.
