Geneva Fern “Jenny” (Hawkins) Kerkhoff, 92, of Lafayette, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022.
She was born March 3, 1930, in Gary, to Russell and Fern (Roth) Hawkins. She was raised in Delphi and graduated from Delphi High School in 1948. She then worked at Union Bank and Trust in Delphi. It was there that she accepted a date with a customer – J.Q. Kerkhoff and they married in December 1952.
Jenny is survived by her son, Joe (Trisha) Kerkhoff and daughter, Ginny O’Keefe. Sons Jim and Kerk preceded her in death.
She has 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In her later years, she enjoyed residing at the home of her son Joe, where she passed away as comfortably as possible with the kind attention of the Franciscan Hospice Team.
She will be laid to rest next to her sons in Zion Cemetery, near Monitor, Indiana, per her own directives, there will be no services held.
