Geneieve L. Rummel was born in Thomas County, Kansas on June 5, 1922 and departed this life in Canon City, Colorado on December 16, 2014. She has been reunited with the many family members and friends who went on before her. Geneieve grew up in Goodland, Kansas during the Great Depression and lived through the dark days of World War II, as her husband, Dale, served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Several years after the war, Dale and Geneieve went into the Christian ministry and served for many years, mostly in Denver, Colorado. The ministry was their calling, their life together, and they served side-by-side with great dedication and love. Geneieve was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale; parents, Tom and Blanche Smith; brother, Lloyd Smith and sister-in-law, Audrey; in-laws, Tally and Mabel Rummel; grandson, Kurt Rummel; and son-in-law, Leland Boardman. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Boardman; sons, Gary (Sharon) and Tom (Lisa); grandchildren, Eric (Julie), Dirk (Lisa), Heidi (Kris) Fuller, Dale, Kristin, and Alyssa Boardman; Matthew; Lauren (Daniel) Collins; nine great grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends. Geneieve loved the mountains, and taking a drive in them any time of year.
