Genean Kay Rose died Wednesday September 1, 2021, in Mission Hills, CA. She was born May 7, 1937, the eldest of ten children to Everett and Jeannie (Shank) Rickey.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wesley “W.D.” in January 2009 and their sixth child, Robert L. in September 2020. Five siblings preceded her in death Cherean, Jack, Ed, Jim and Leanna.
Genean had moved to Mission Hills, CA in 2019 after spending the majority of her life in Elkhart and Middlebury.
Surviving her are four daughters and two sons, Brenda K. (Kenneth A.) Story, Bristol, Duane A. (Ana), Mission Hills, CA, Rhonda R. Ahrens-Aldape, Colorado Springs, CO, Gregory A., Michigan City, Suzanne F. LeMonte, Wakarusa and Christine F. Gurk, Cape Coral, FL. Genean’s surviving siblings are Elaine Marohn, and Elizabeth Barone both of Elkhart, Tom (Esther), San Antonio, TX and Steve (Bonnie), Bristol.
Genean also leaves behind 16 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren all of whom she loved deeply.
She enjoyed being with her cats, working in her flower gardens, listening to Elvis music, in her younger years she was an avid bowler and she loved reading.
