Eugene T. “Gene” Wofford, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2019. He passed peacefully at Hamilton Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 8, 1935. He was raised by his late grandparents, Jim and Rosa A. Brock. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn E. “Betty” Wofford; parents, John and Jennie Mae Wofford; brother, John “Spanky” Wofford; sisters, Jennie Mae Cudd and Rosa Belle “Cootie” Stephens. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Cloer of Dalton; grandchildren, Crystal and Shane Bryant, Chris and Ashley Cloer; great grandchildren, Matthew Cloer, Jacob Cloer and Haven Kate Bryant. Gene was a hardworking, successful small business owner for thirty years. He was well respected by the community and was loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
