Gene Wesley McMasters, 81, of Asheboro, died Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Gene was a native and longtime resident of Randolph County and retired as a custodian with Randolph County Schools. He was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jones McMasters and parents, Fletcher and Ila Routh McMasters, sisters, Opal Bullard, Ruth McMasters, Betty Lou Lawrence, brothers, Ray McMasters, Cicero McMasters, Glenn McMasters.
Survivors: daughter, Donna M. Toomes (Jay), of Randleman, sons, Franklin Lee McMasters (Karen), of Supply, Steven McMasters, of Asheboro, grandchildren, Sara T. Auman (Thomas), Kaitlyn Bacon (Andrew), Amanda Wheatley (Britt), Kristine McMasters (Niko), Amy McMasters, Nicholas McMasters, twelve great-grandchildren, step-children, Debbie Pickens (Don), Rodney Higgins, of Asheboro, Randy Higgins (Arlene), of Charlotte, 5 step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
