Gene Wayne Simons, 75, of Freeport, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Born March 20, 1940 in Gratiot, Wisconsin he was the son of John and Thelma (Tucker) Simons. He married Elaine Mau November 5, 1960. Gene worked at Micro Switch Company in Freeport retiring in 1994.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine of Freeport; his sons, Greg (Christina) Simons of Lanark, Bruce (Lisa) Simons of Elroy, Wisconsin, Terry Simons of McConnell, and Jarett Simons of Freeport; his sisters, Coreen DeFrane of Freeport and Vicky (Keith) Carpenter of Wildrose, Wisconsin; his brothers, Jack Simons of Channelview, Texas, Donald (Linda) Simons of Freeport, Wayne (Vicky) Simons and Dean (Janice) Simons both of Wildrose, Wisconsin, and Jim Simons of Beloit, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers.
