Gene R. Terry, age 81, passed away February 12, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born December 10, 1930 in Hominy, Oklahoma to H.P. Terry and Mona Price Terry. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anne Terry. Other survivors include his son, Kim Terry; his son, Kyle Terry and his wife Linda and their three children, Dené, Shaun, and Doug Terry; his daughter, Candy Grant and her husband Dave, and their three children Emily, Zach, and Adam Grant; his brother, John and his wife Martha Terry; and his sister Joanne and her husband Jim Cothern. He enjoyed a lifelong career with the airline industry, including time at Delta, Braniff, and TWA. He retired from TWA as the Southwest Regional Sales Manager in San Antonio, Texas after 28 years of service and having been named “Man of the Year” in 1962. He and his wife later owned Terry’s Travel agency in San Antonio before ultimately retiring to Grand Lake in Oklahoma. He enjoyed sharing his lifelong interests in the outdoors and sports with his children and grandchildren, resulting in their subsequent relocation to Newnan, Georgia where he shared his special affinity for the Oklahoma Sooners with his family.
