Gene Lisby, 65, Alexandria, died April 1, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born July 26, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and resided in Alexandria. He was a resident of this area for most of his life. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 30 years of employment. He was a graduate of Anderson High School. He served his country in WWII in the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of Alexandria VFW, American Legion in Alexandria, Anderson Amvets and Frankton American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marsha Majors Lisby; three children, Russell Gene & wife Vicki Lisby of Daleville, Lori & husband Gary Pratt of Alexandria and Rhonda & husband Ken Babcock of Summitville; sister, Sue Alt of Anderson; brother, Ted & wife Linda Lisby of Fishers; brothers & sisters-in-law, Larry & Diane Beane, Jimmy Majors, Mark & Connie Majors and Yvonne Williams; seven grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins; special brother & sister-in-law, Vernon & Rosetta Beane He was preceded by his parents Conrad C. & Hilda Mears Lisby.
