Gene Lee Wood December 20, 1939 March 25, 2013 Gene L. Wood, 73, Fairmount, passed away March 25, 2013 in his Mesa, Arizona home.
Gene was born December 20, 1939 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Harold Gordon and Thelma Irene (Beaty) Wood . He was a 1957 Graduate of Fairmount High School.He married Karen Jo (Barker) Wood who survives. Gene retired from the General Motors plant in Marion, Indiana.He was a tow Motor Driver in the Shipping department.He loved to play golf, bowl, and watch his grandson and granddaughter play college basketball; and his Texas granddaughter march in her high school band. Gene liked to watch his youngest Texas Granddaughter (Samantha) play Soccer.
He is also survived by his children; Scott D. (Tawny) Wood, Marion, IN Jo Marie (Tim) Miller, San Antonio, TX 2 Brothers; Jack (Connie Jo) Wood, Sweetser, IN Charles McNew, Florida.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Judy Hunt and Doris Sullivan.
