Eugene E. Dickey, age 78, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died on Sunday, April 19, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Gene was born September 4, 1932 to Russell and Juanita (Martin) Dickey in Galien, Michigan. He graduated from Galien High School.
Gene served his country in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant for 20 years, before retiring on September 1, 1972. During his service he was stationed in Turkey, Florida, Indiana, Alaska, France, and Las Vegas. After retirement he settled in Three Oaks and worked for Hausman’s and later for Three Oaks Hardware Store. Gene was a member of the Randall Couchmen American Legion Post #204 and the VFW.
His family includes his children, Carol (George) Sankey, Ronald (Cynthia) Dickey and Edward Dickey, all of Florida; his sister, Reva (Phillip) Ryan of Three Oaks; grandchildren: Marshall K., Matthew S. and Richard C. Parker, Marcus, Christian, and Chelsea Dickey, Kollete and Katrina Dickey; great-grandchildren: Elisia Star Parker Sinnett, Haley Moon Parker Sinnett, Brayden, and Branson; and many nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita “Pat” Dickey and his sister Marjorie Crandell.
