Our beloved father and grandfather, Gene Anthony Susin, went home to the Lord and was reunited with his wife of 56 years, Virginia, on 28 February, 2012. He was born to Jack and Joan Susin on 4 March 1929 in Detroit, MI Dad was a proud 20 year veteran of the U. S. Army. He served in Japan, Korea, Germany and at several posts in the United States. He and Mom met at Camp Lee, VA where she was stationed with the Women”s Army Corps (WAC”s). That started a life long adventure of travel and moving every few years even after he retired from his second career with Equifax as an Insurance Claims Investigator. After mom died in 2007, he moved to VA to be near his daughter, Barbara and son-in-law, Ron, then moved to Boerne in 2009 when they returned to TX. He enjoyed living at Morningside Ministries and having lunch everyday at the Kronkosky Center where he volunteered. He attended St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Gene is survived by his daughter, Barbara Racinowski, her husband Ron and grandson, Ryan Racinowski; son, Jack Susin and his wife, Kay. He will be dearly missed. The Rosary will be on Tuesday, 6 March at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne.
