Ge Ja Hong, age 75, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Cranberry Court Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids surrounded by her family.

Ge was born July 17, 1945 in Seoul, South Korea to Keun and Hae (No) Hong.  While living in Korea, she worked as a secretary for local businesses.  She moved to the United States in 1981 and earned her citizenship in 1986. She was employed as a line worker at McCain Foods for over 20 years until her retirement.

Ge enjoyed writing and listening to music.  She won many prizes from local radio station trivia contests in Korea.  She liked to exercise to keep physically fit.  She liked to crochet and solve Sudoku puzzles and word searches.  She loved to visit with family and friends.

Ge is survived by her siblings: Kyong Ai (Young Chal Kim), Moo Kwang (Mi-Re Hong), Soon Hong, Kyong Payne, and Kyong Hui (Luis Mendoza); nieces and nephews: Andy Hong, Nina (Matt) Stensberg, Johanna Andres, Luis Mendoza Jr., David Payne, and Lynn (Keith) Behrend; and many friends.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Korea.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cranberry Court and Heartland Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
