Gayle Marie Schaffer Gunter, born on September 29, 1942, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Daughter of Gerald and Marie Schaffer, she and sister Geraldine (Roth) grew up in Mt Vernon, Indiana near the Ohio River, which Gayle always referred to as, “my river.” She graduated from Mt.
Gayle is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jesse Gunter, her daughters, Susan, Kathy, and Jessica Gunter, her son-in-law Chris Benatti, and the three greatest joys in her life, her grandchildren, Jordan, Bailey, and Abbie Gunter. But we would be remiss in leaving out the most beautiful and smartest German Shepherd in the world, her Molly!
