Gayle Lynn Towery was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on September 29th at the age of 74.

She was born to Ralph and LaRene Warthen on April 18th, 1948. Gayle has two sisters, and growing up in Hoquiam, WA, she was known as the “pretty” sister. One of our favorite stories about her childhood was when she participated in Logger’s Playday Jubilee, where she was crowned queen. She also participated in the Miss Greys Harbor pageant where she was awarded Miss Congeniality. Her girls used her pageant dresses for dress-up. Gayle left Washington to attend BYU, where she met Randy. They were married on June 3rd, 1970, in the Logan Temple. Randy and Gayle spent the majority of their married life in the same house on Everett, where they raised their family. Jeremy, Wendy, Tammy, Ryan and Erik gave them nineteen grandchildren. Those grandchildren gave them six great grandchildren (so far!).

Gayle loved her children and grandchildren. She put so much thought and effort into creating crafts for the kids to do at family events. For some of the grandchildren, she provided jello for a snack, which is where she gained the name “Grandma Jello”. Grandma Jello always prepared fun snacks for the kids to enjoy during holidays and other events.

Gayle was the epitome of selflessness. Her life was centered around giving to others, never thinking about herself. What she never realized was that the love she gave to people, friend or stranger, was the biggest gift in and of itself. And we all know Gayle knew no stranger! She had a way to make every person in the room feel special.

Gayle suffered from many health problems, but beat all odds. We’ve been able to enjoy her precious smile for many years, and for that we are thankful. We are so grateful to know she is dancing up in heaven, hugging and loving on everyone around her, just like she did on earth.
