Mr. Gavino Gutierrez Almarante
WATERBURY — Gavino Guiterrez, 88, of Cossette Street, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, after sustaining injuries on I-84. He was the husband to Ana Henriques Gutierrez.
Mr. Gutierrez was born January 28, 1920, in La Vega, Dominican Republic son of the late Gavino and Juana Almarante Gutierrez.
Mr. Gutierrez worked for himself for many years building homes in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and most of the Carribean Islands. He was a member of La Congregacion de Mita in Bridgeport.
Besides his wife he leaves five daughters, Margarita Gutierrez of D.R., Nancy Gutierrez of D.R., Antonia Gutierrez of Puerto Rico, Marina Alvarado of Waterbury, Germania Bracken of Plantsville, four sons, Augusto Gutierrez of D.R., Juan Gutierrez of Waterbury, Isidro Gutierrez of D.R., Porfirio Gutierrez of Waterbury, two brothers; Eulises Gutierrez of Waterbury, Fermin Gutierrez of D.R., six sisters; Julia Perez of N.J., Luz Melendez of N.J., Carida Almarante of D.R., Fe Gutierrez of D.R., Mariana Gutierrez of D.R., Celina Gutierrez of D.R., twenty-one grandchildren; Maria Rivera, Maryuri Gonzalez, Llina Hilario, Edgar Hilario, Samuel Alvarado Jr., Cesar Pena, Griselda Pena, Nalda Pena, Cecilia Pena, Alexa Bracken, Kyle Bracken, Stephanie, Vladdimir, Carol, Christopher, Anyelina, Leoporfi, Katherine Gutierrez, Yokasta, Yuldelka, Morima Gutierrez, twenty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Gavino was predeceased by brothers, sisters, and a son Andres Gutierrez.
